About Me

Luminessa (or ‘Lumi’) was born and raised in New York City with her actor-model mother and musician father. From the time she’d started elementary school, she had developed an enormous fascination with music, art, storytelling, and performance. Her obsession with the arts served as an invaluable outlet through her major challenges and successes alike. Her unconventional upbringing was accompanied by a vast diversity of personal experience– perspectives on which still shape her creative message to this day.

At 18 years old and with hardly any resources to her name, she moved to Los Angeles, the entertainment epicenter of the US, where she became inspired to learn electronic music production. After receiving her Associate in Science Degree in Business Administration from Santa Monica College, she then took courses at UC San Diego and UC Los Angeles. There she studied music production and recording engineering, computer programming, art, and graphic design. In 2022, Lumi graduated with her Bachelor Degree from Maharishi International University, where she emphasized in filmmaking and new media, consciousness studies, theology, yoga, and Ayurveda.

Now in her third year as a full-time creative, Lumi has worked with hundreds of brands and fellow artists, both on commercial and artistic projects. In everything she does, Luminessa endeavors to utilize the arts as a powerful medium to promote radical self-expression, spiritual growth, critical thought, peace, justice, and freedom.
